The Cooligans

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8PM ET/PT

The Cooligans are Alexis Guerreros and Christian Polanco, two professional comedians who are obsessed with soccer.

They started going to NYCFC matches in 2015 and the rest — the wildly popular podcast, the media appearances, and now the TV show — is, as they say, history.

“The Cooligans” TV show launched on fubo Sports Network in September 2019, with new episodes airing Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8PM ET/PT. They interview top players, journalists and more, and give their takes on the latest happenings from the beautiful game. (And their latest experiences with the beautiful food — pizza.)

When they’re not shooting their show, the Cooligans are on tour, doing live podcasts and hosting soccer events. They recently performed stand-up comedy and a live podcast at Washington DC’s Audi Field, the 20,000-seat home of MLS team DC United.

Co-host Alexis Guerreros

Alexis Guerreros grew up in Newark, NJ, with a single Cuban mother who had a mean left hook. After burning out in corporate America, Alexis turned to comedy and never looked back. He performs nightly at New York Comedy Club, Gotham, Stand Up NY, Caroline’s and other top comedy clubs. He also performs at festivals around the country.

Alexis has appeared on Comedy Central many times, and voices three different characters on Netflix’s award-winning animated comedy, “BoJack Horseman,” alongside Will Arnett, Amy Sedaris and Aaron Paul.

In 2018 Alexis was one of 12 actors chosen out of 16,000 applicants to be part of the ABC Discovers showcase. Fun fact: He also has an encyclopedic knowledge of pizza. (Please don’t bring him to a pizza place you like, he’ll ruin it for you.)

Co-host Christian Polanco

Christian Polanco is a native of Brooklyn, New York and the son of immigrants from the Dominican Republic. At a very early age, he found that being funny was a way to get people to like you — and to avoid getting beat up. This was enough motivation for him to pursue comedy full time, and start studying the craft of his heroes — George Carlin, Conan O’Brien and Chris Rock.

He is constantly honing his skills in clubs all over New York City and the country, and has even brought his unique brand of comedy to crowds in Canada and the UK. Recently, Christian was a part of a comedy bike tour where he cycled 400 miles across Ohio, performing along the way, fueled only by his love for comedy — he is not a trained cyclist.

Outside of being a stand-up comedian, Christian acts, writes and does improv. He also co-starred in the off-Broadway play, "Kyle," where he played three different comedic characters. Christian has appeared on sketches for MTV's "Middle of the Night Show," Univision's web channel Flama, and Broadway Video's Mas Mejor and Above Average.
