2020-21 Liga MX Week 14: Chivas Guadalajara vs. Atlas How to Watch Live

How to Watch Chivas Guadalajara vs. Atlas
Chivas clash against Atlas may be their last hope for a top-four finish.

North America’s oldest derby will draw major attention in Week 14 of the Liga MX Apertura when Chivas Guadalajara and Atlas collide on Saturday.

First played in 1916, the Clasico Tapatio holds special status in the Mexican soccer calendar, with Guadalajara taking a firm upper hand in the Jalisco rivalry in more modern times.

Chivas have won the last five meetings between the two teams and hope to cement their spot among the playoff spots with a sixth in succession at the Estadio Akron. Victor Manuel Vucetich’s side have outscored their oldest nemeses 9-1 across those five encounters, with three red cards shown across their last two league matchups.

What TV Channel is Chivas-Atlas on?

You can watch the Clasico Tapatio via Telemundo at 8 p.m. ET. You can live stream Liga MX matches on fuboTV.

A little more than 18 kilometers separates these two clubs on foot, though the gap in quality has been far greater throughout their more recent encounters. Atlas have failed to score in each of their last three visits to Guadalajara. A return of one win from their last five matches doesn’t bode well for the guests ahead of Week 14.

Mexico international Alexis Vega has proved a particular bane for Los Zorros and scored each of Chivas’ last four home goals against Atlas, including a spectacular 1-0 winner in September 2019:

Vega has four assists and one goal in his last six appearances. Guadalajara hopes the 22-year-old can rise to the challenge once again in the Clasico Tapatio. Jose Juan Macias, 21, is another Chivas youngster who would usually require special attention, but a return of four goals in 13 outings this season hasn’t been up to his usual standards.

Victory against the odds could drive Atlas into the top 12 and revive their playoff hopes, while defeat would leave them with a lot of ground to make up and only a handful of games remaining in the regular season.
